Imagine potential employers having to read page lone and confusing summaries? This would close the door even before giving you a chance of placing your foot into it! Wise to invest time and effort writing worthwhile summaries, isn’t it?

Start with a strong lead-in: LinkedIn shows the first 3 lines of your profile summary before readers have a chance to click in order to see more. This means that one has about 290-310 characters. Begin your summary with a catchy hook or load your summary with the most important thing, which you want recruiters to know. Think of what sets you apart?

Insert Keywords: Hiring managers look for a combination of job titles, skills, and other keywords to find suitable candidates.

LinkedIn can show you some of the search queries that have been used to find your profile. In order to know these, check out the dashboard underneath your summary. One of the stats will show “search appearances”. Click it to find are port with your searches. If there aren’t keywords then your profile keywords aren’t optimised.
