Send your Resume as a PDF File to Avoid Formatting Errors

While sending your resume to your potential employer, convert your Word document to a PDF file and then attach it to your mail to ensure that the formatting is retained. If you send it as a Word document, there are chances that the formatting might get disturbed and that the hiring manager/prospective employer might be viewing a distorted version on their computer. Also, make sure to label your file correctly. Remember, hiring managers receive thousands of resumes each day. Hence, you could make their job easier by labeling your file correctly. Use a simple and clear name such as First Name_Last Name_Resume.pdf

— this can be considered as well for visual resumes or resumes having tables/columns/graphics for content. Many times recipients use different versions of Ms Word and the alignment of the aforementioned elements and text can get disturbed.
