Everyone has heard suggestions about how to put up their best for an interview or what to bring for an interview but how many of us have taken tips about what not to bring?
A product from the rival company: It is like naming oranges and eating apples! Don’t end your interview at coke with a bottle of Pepsi in your hand unless you plan to discuss the competition.
Food: You don’t want to smell of curry while you attend your interview. Eat light before you drop in and be sure to use a good scent to smell nice.
Pets: Ok, we all know that you love pets but an interview spot is not the right place to express your love.
Coffee in your hand: Don’t walk in the interview room with a cup of coffee in your hand, thinking that you might look cool! Everything should be neatly tucked into your bag, away from people’s vision (even your water bottle).
Phone: It is okay to have your phone on you but double-check it in order to ensure that the phone is in silent mode.
